LA Galaxy Back to the Final
Thanks to a 2-0 overtime win against the Houston Dynamo, the Los Angeles Galaxy have found their way back to the MLS Final for the first time since 2005. Coming off of recent seasons of turmoil, including a not so smooth start to the David Beckham $500 million era, the Galaxy are now back at the elite level of MLS play and will await the winner of the Chicago/Real Salt Lake series. Led by a strong defensive effort the Galaxy faced overtime with the score tied nil-nil. The first overtime goal came off of a David Bekham free kick that was punched in goal by Galaxy defender Gregg Berhalter. Landon Donovan also scored in overtime to put the Galaxy ahead 2-0 and seal the victory that will send the Galaxy into the MLS Cup final.
Notes: The game was delayed on two occassions after the stadium lights went out due to power issues at the Home Depot Center.
