The series has featured a see-saw battle between two young and quickly upcoming point guards, Derrick Rose the rookie and Rajon Rondo the previously overshadowed. The series includes two future Hall of Famers who have come up big for the defending champs. On top of all that drama, the series has given us two teams that overcame questionable play calling by one mediocre coach and one downright unproven one. There have been ugly fouls, controversial endings and the usual inconsistent NBA refereeing. Bulls vs. Celtics 2009 has seen two major American sports cities engage in sports civil war. The best part, the series isn’t even over yet as there is still one more crucial game to go.
There have been many great NBA 1st round play-off series in history, but arguably never one that grabbed the attention of the nation like this one has. The finale of the series was slightly disappointing. If Game 7 would have been decided on the last possession I would say that no doubt this was the best Round 1 7 game series ever.
